Thrive: The Central Fire (Storytelling)

For thousands of years, our ancestors gathered around central fires for warmth and shared stories that were a source of survival, comfort, and entertainment. Through the millennia, storytelling around a central fire filled a powerful human need for companionship and community. Intuitively, our ancestors understood that sharing stories keeps us balanced, connected, and emotionally fit.
Join us to listen, and when you’re ready, move closer to the fire to share your treasured tales.
The theme for today’s central fire stories is Eucatastrophe. The term was coined by J.R.R. Tolkien, combining the Greek prefix Eu, meaning “good” and a catastrophe. Read together; an Eucatastrophe is a good catastrophe in one’s life—a time when something that seemed difficult or bad turned out to be good.
