Lifelong Learning

June 8 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

BIGSCREEN APP REQUIRED
Join us this summer for three fascinating presentations filled with history, culture, stories, and surprises.
June 8: Touch and Textiles
We often think of history as something we see in paintings, photographs, and old buildings. But history can also be felt. In this presentation, we’ll explore the world of fabrics, clothing, tapestries, and textures, and discover how textiles have shaped daily life, art, war, memory, and identity across the centuries.
July 13: Mexico
Take a colorful journey through Mexico, a country rich with ancient civilizations, vibrant traditions, remarkable landscapes, music, food, art, and celebration. From the mysteries of the Maya and Aztec worlds to the sights, sounds, and stories of modern Mexico, this presentation will go far beyond the usual postcard version.
August 10: The Curse of Stuart London
Step into 17th-century London, a city of royal drama, plague, fire, frost fairs, executions, conspiracies, and catastrophe. From the Gunpowder Plot to the Great Plague and the Great Fire of London, this presentation uncovers one of the most turbulent and dramatic periods in the city’s history.
Three months. Three very different journeys. One summer of stories you will not want to miss.
